A forever-moaning Shadowheart sends a Baldur's Gate 3 player down a rabbit hole while fans of the RPG demand "the exact steps to achieve this 'bug'"
Someone ask Larian if this was in the script
There aren't many solutions in the replies to a Baldur's Gate 3 player's Reddit thread asking how to fix a bug that causes Shadowheart to repeatedly moan. Instead, thirsty fans of God's favorite princess have shown up to ask for step-by-step instructions on how to recreate something they argue isn't a bug at all.
Reddit user Akereth posted a minute-long clip of their party exploring the game while being interrupted by Shadowheart moaning into what sounds like a loudspeaker. She does it enough that you'd think it's some kind of NSFW mod, but Akereth said it only started happening after receiving an Illithid power in a scene earlier.
About an hour after posting the clip, however, Akereth discovered that simply fast traveling to a new location stops Shadowheart from embarrassing everyone in the party – which happens to be the same fix another Reddit poster figured out a few months ago.
The top reply is from a player demanding a tutorial: "Please detail the exact steps to achieve this 'bug'."
Others are just amused that Akereth considers it a problem. "Steak too juicy, lobster too buttery," RogueShroom writes.
How do I get Shadowheart to stop moaning? from r/BaldursGate3
Among the people laughing at the absurdity of it, a few stepped in to say they've also heard more of Shadowheart than they signed up for and suspect it's something to do with accepting and canceling Illithid powers.
One person said they've encountered the same thing with Gale several times, proving that the bug is at least considerate of all types of players. This makes me wonder if the other companions are susceptible to this bug as well, but I'm too modest to find out.

Developer Larian is busy working on Divinity and might not get around to patching Shadowheart's moans out. The studio dropped a small update earlier this year, but has implied that it's pretty much done with Baldur's Gate 3. I guess that's good news for the Reddit user who asked if there was a way to recreate the bug with Karlach.
If this were happening three years ago, we might've even seen it become an official Easter egg. Whether you consider it a bug or not, it seems like this won't be the end of players accidentally causing their companions to sound like they're having too much fun exploring every nook and cranny of the RPG.
"They let me!": Baldur's Gate 3 writer couldn't believe the nonsense Larian allowed in flavor text.
