When is the full Path of Exile 2 release date?
There isn't an exact date yet, but here's what we know about when Path of Exile 2's full release could be
The Path of Exile 2 full release date isn't known precisely, but we do know that Grinding Gear Games are trying to get the 1.0 update out before the end of the year. Path of Exile 2 launched into early access on December 6, 2024, so the projected release target roughly coincides with this two-year early access anniversary and should see the game enter a complete state with a full campaign and endgame. Here are the basics you need to be aware of for the 1.0 launch of Path of Exile 2 and when the full release date is likely to be.
Path of Exile 2 full release date
As mentioned, Path of Exile 2 hasn’t got a release date for version 1.0, but we know that it's targeting a 2026 release for after ExileCon, which runs from November 7-8. That means the full launch date should be between November 9 to December 31, 2026, but expect solid details to get announced at ExileCon.
The endgame-focused 'Return of the Ancients' update, which launched on May 29, was also the final major update before the full release of Path of Exile 2. Assuming there are no delays, that means players will be going roughly six months without new content, though the developers at Grinding Gear Games will still support the game in that time with balance updates and tweaks to polish the whole thing.
In terms of what will get added with the full release for POE2, players can look forward to a completed campaign with Acts 5 and 6 getting added, but the four missing Path of Exile 2 classes (Duelist, Marauder, Shadow, and Templar) might not all make it in time for 1.0.
Game director Jonathan Rogers told Eurogamer that "[the developers] want to make sure that all the character classes we do have are finished and they've got all the ascendancy classes they need, and they've got all the skills they need, and everything like that." He adds that the focus is on ensuring the game "feels complete" with a full campaign and endgame in working order. The absent classes will arrive eventually, but don't expect them to be there for POE2's full release in 2026.
