Bad news for Ben Solo fans, as Steven Soderbergh has poured water over any possibility of the scrapped Star Wars movie getting off the ground now Disney has new leadership.
The film would have been titled The Hunt for Ben Solo, with Adam Driver reprising his role as the redeemed titular character after The Rise of Skywalker. However, while Lucasfilm felt very positively about the idea, Disney boss Bob Iger and Disney Entertainment co-chair Alan Bergman weren't so keen.
So, with Josh D'Amaro taking over as Disney CEO – and Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan stepping up as Lucasfilm co-presidents – some fans might be thinking Soderbergh could return to working on the Ben Solo movie. But, Soderbergh is not interested in going back. "Nope," he told The Playlist.

It's just good for you to be in that room and working on it. It's like CrossFit – it's good for you. It'll have a residual effect that will be unexpected at some point."
Soderbergh also seems happy to move on. "As soon as it became apparent, OK, not gonna happen, I sat down and started writing [something else]," he said. "It's like, 'OK, new scenario, let's get cracking.' At a certain point, it’s like complaining about the weather. You just gotta keep moving."
Basically, it seems there's no chance of the project returning. "Look, if it was gonna happen, it would have happened," he added. "It's that simple."
