First clip from The Mandalorian and Grogu released, and it shows Grogu being a menace

The Mandalorian and Grogu hits the big screen in exactly one month, but director Jon Favreau is still keeping us on our toes as the filmmaker debuts the first full scene from the movie.

Whilst on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Favreau presented the first ongoing clip we have seen from the new Star Wars movie. The footage shows Grogu all by himself in the Razor Crest whilst Pedro Pascal's bounty hunter is caught in a high-speed chase not far behind. As Mando tries to outrun the car full of stormtroopers chasing him, he asks Grogu to start the ship, but the little Yoda gets confused and accidentally starts firing missiles in the direction of his adoptive dad of sorts.

DiscussingFilm has since posted the clip on Twitter, where the first proper look at the movie is getting mixed reviews from fans. "I'm finally getting my Star Wars level of hype built up. This looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait," said one fan, but another added, "So this is what Star Wars is now? Slapstick? And stupidness for comedic effect? I... Don't understand." The footage seems to be focusing on the father-son-like dynamic between Mando and Grogu, which will play a huge part in the movie. In an interview with SFX Magazine, Favreau said, "as much as Star Wars is about visuals, locations and vehicles, it’s also about relationships, and it’s about families," adding that the film will also explore what it is like for Rotta to be the son of Jabba the Hutt.

The new clip comes just days after the first 15 minutes of the movie were shown behind closed doors at CinemaCon. The Mandalorian and Grogu is the first Star Wars movie ever to do this. The footage showed the film beginning with yellow static text setting up the movie, explaining where the fledgling New Republic stands in the wake of the Empire's fall. Then follows an opening action scene before the credits appear.

Set after the events of The Mandalorian season 3, the movie picks up with the duo as they join the fight to protect the New Republic after the fall of the evil Empire. As well as Pascal, The Mandalorian adds newcomers Jeremy Allen White and Sigourney Weaver.
