James Marsden will return as Cyclops in Avengers: Doomsday – and, this time, he'll be in a comic-accurate suit.
So far, we've had a glimpse of the actor in his costume in the X-Men Doomsday trailer, but not much else has been revealed yet. Still, it sounds like Marsden was pretty grateful to switch up the costume from his previous appearances in the Fox universe.
When asked by Jimmy Kimmel if he had any concerns over the costume, Marsden responded: "Yeah, of course. Would I fit in it? What would it look like? I can tell everybody now, because everyone's seen it, the original X-Men Cyclops costume from the comics, which is pretty cool."
He added: "The first movies, where we were just in black leather, were very, very tight, very restrictive, we couldn't move around. In fact, Hugh [Jackman] and I, I think the first day of filming, we had to jump over a little retaining wall outside the Statue of Liberty, and we both were tripping over it. No joke, there's a video of us online doing this. We were just like, 'Okay, we're fired.' That's it. You don't feel like a superhero in these. But put this [the Doomsday costume] on, felt very cool, felt very proud, and then the visor goes on, I'm like 'Oh yeah, I can't see again.'"
While the Doomsday cast is absolutely stacked, Thunderbolts star Lewis Pullman has set fears that it will be cameo overload to rest.
"Every character has their moment that builds the dimensions of them," he shared. "The Russo brothers did that so well. They do not want anyone just sitting in the background. They really took to heart the responsibility of having some of the best actors in the world all together. There's a lot of really exciting pair-ups that happen. A lot of fans will be really excited. It's so fun to dream about. What if A and B would work together? Would B and D would work together? You get to see a lot of those fantasies come into fruition."
Avengers: Doomsday arrives this December 18. Daredevil: Born Again season 2, meanwhile, is currently airing on Disney Plus.
