Ubisoft's first-person RPG, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, is more about slugging it out in close combat than worrying about experience points. And these new shots will give you a taste of the gruesome blade fodder you'll be standing toe-to-toe with when the game launches later this year.
Forget the obvious comparisons to Oblivion, Dark Messiah offers far more options for skirmishing tactics than its massively single-player rival. While in a brawl you can kick out at your opponent, slam them sideways with a well placed blow of your weapon or use your magic abilities to hurl enemies around as projectiles.
Your attackers aren't limited to simple smashing either, so you'll need to watch out for enemies launching rocks and barrels at your poor face. Of course, get in close after an action-packed encounter and, if you've charged your adrenaline bar - which builds during combat - you can unleash a super-powerful fatality to end the fight once and for all.
Of course, it all sounds nice but, until you've seen it in full flow, it's hard to appreciate just how kinetic Dark Messiah's combat is going to be. So, because we love making your day, check out these two bonus videos to get a better idea of the action. They're well worth a peek.
