Black Friday is here, which means Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals are starting to crop up with alarming force. So far we've got discounts on the base Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo Switch Lite, and later in the day, a hefty discount on the Nintendo Switch OLED model.

In addition to the consoles themselves, you can expect a lot of discounts on Nintendo Switch games, particularly first-party titles. But enough out of us: see below all the best Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals we've found so far, and we sure to keep checking the page throughout the day.

Where to find the best Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals

Early Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals

Nintendo Switch + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + 3-month Switch Online

Nintendo Switch + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + 3-month Switch Online | AU$469 AU$399
Save AU$70 on this sweet bundle, which is the first proper Nintendo Switch base model discount we've seen for a while. The bundle includes the neon version of the console, plus Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a three month subscription to Nintendo Switch online. It probably won't last for long, given how close we are the Christmas. Via Amazon.

Nintendo Switch Lite

Nintendo Switch Lite | AU$329.95 AU$279
Sure, without detachable Joy-cons you're running the risk of permanent stick drift (here's how to fix it) but this is a brilliant price for the Nintendo Switch Lite if you're just after a portable gaming device: AU$50.95 off leaves to extra cash for games. This price applies to the turquoise, grey, yellow, blue and coral colours.

Nintendo Switch Pro controller

Nintendo Switch Pro controller | AU$99.95 AU$79
For Switch owners who do a lot of TV couch gaming, a Pro controller is pretty much essential. This AU$20.95 discount should make that luxury a little easier to justify. Via Amazon.

Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controller

Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controller | AU$119.95 AU$89
Whether your current Joy-Cons are suffering drift or you just want a spare pair, AU$30.95 off the usual RRP for a set is definitely a bargain. The neon red and blue set is linked above, but the blue and neon yellow set is also available at this price. Via Amazon.

Metroid Dread

Metroid Dread | AU$79.95 AU$59
One of the most acclaimed games of the year gets a nice steep discount, only weeks after release. That's a rarity for first-party Nintendo games, so if you were waiting on a discount for Samus' new adventure, this is probably the best you're going to get for a while. Via Amazon.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury | AU$79.95 AU$59
A classic Wii U cooperative take on the 3D Mario concept, upgraded with the Nintendo Switch with a new Bowser-centric adventure added to boot. It's a fine game, and could serve as a decent ice breaker when relatives visit this holiday season. Via Amazon.

Mario Golf Super Rush

Mario Golf Super Rush | AU$79.95 AU$59
It's Mario, hooray! It's golf! Uh, don't click away just yet, because it's arcade golf, filtered through Nintendo's nigh faultless approach to moreish game design. It also supports four player competitive, both online and locally, so your golf-lovin' uncle can have a go after Christmas lunch. Via Amazon.

Paper Mario: The Origami King

Paper Mario: The Origami King | AU$79.95 AU$39
It may have departed from its JRPG-style origins, but Paper Mario is still a brilliant Nintendo adventure game, and it has a gorgeous art style too. This is the cheapest we've seen it go since launch. Via Amazon.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons | AU$79.95 AU$59
The game widely credited for getting people through the hellscape of 2020 also ended up being useful in 2021. Will we need it in 2022? Well, a massive new update landed last month adding a bunch of new content, but even if you don't use it as a salve for scary times, it's still a fine little life sim. Via Amazon.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe | AU$79.95 AU$59
If there's one game that could be considered utterly essential for every Nintendo Switch fan, it'd be Mario Kart 8. If you've got a Switch and somehow don't own this yet, now's a good time to jump aboard with a nice AU$20.95 off its usual RRP. Via Amazon.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Super Smash Bros Ultimate | AU$89.95 AU$59
Other publishers keep throwing platform fighters into the market but none can compete with Smash Bros, and that's mostly thanks to its roster of immediately recognisable Nintendo characters. Whether you're in it for the wins or just want a laugh with friends, Super Smash Bros Ultimate is a Nintendo Switch essential. Via Amazon.

Western Digital and SanDisk storage | up to 60% off on Amazon

Western Digital and SanDisk storage | up to 60% off on Amazon
The Switch's internal storage leaves something to be desired, but thankfully its expandable with a regular run-of-the-mill Micro SD card. Amazon has big discounts on both Western Digital and SanDisk Micro SD cards, so if you need space for all the new bargains you'll pick up this Black Friday, jump on it now. Via Amazon.

When will Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals start?

We've been seeing Black Friday deals starting earlier and earlier in recent times, with last year's stretched timeline kicking things off as soon as October. That was largely due to the surge in online retail brought on by the global pandemic. However, this surge has caused overall growth online, which means we're expecting to see retailers offering early discounts well ahead of the official November 26 start date.

However, Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals are often reserved for blockbuster sales. That means we're likely to only see console bundles or straight discounts on the devices themselves on November 25 at the earliest, but we'd recommend keeping a close eye out for discounts in the days leading up to Black Friday.

Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals: what to expect

2021 is going to be an interesting year for Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals. With three models on the market by the time November 26 rolls around, all of different ages, discounts may not be as uniform as they have been in previous offers.

Last year, for example, there was only one Nintendo Switch bundle doing the rounds throughout the sale event. You could pick up a console, a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and a three-month Nintendo Switch Online subscription for AU$469 last year. That's the RRP of the console itself, a price that remains the best we've seen in a long time.

With more stock on the shelves and an OLED model competing at a similar price point, it's likely we'll see far more bundles in 2021. Games like The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury have topped the charts in 2021 and are likely contenders for this year's Black Friday Nintendo Switch bundles. However, older titles like Breath of the Wild and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate still remain popular whenever they hit their own discounts as well.

Black Friday Nintendo Switch OLED deals: what to expect

The Nintendo Switch OLED is here, just short of one month before Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals will hit the shelves. We don't expect too many savings to be available on this newer model later this year, though you never know: stock in Australia has been pretty consistently available since launch. We'd recommend keeping an eye out for rare bundles here, though.

Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals: what to expect from accessories

We'll also be seeing all the regular savings on the best Nintendo Switch accessories and some healthy Nintendo Switch game sales as well. Whether you're after a new controller or just looking to pad out your collection, discounts will be available across the full price range.

Official Nintendo items like the Pro Controller and Joy-Con have been stuck at the same sales prices throughout the year. These devices rarely drop down to a new price tier, but we can expect the AU$89 price tag on the Pro Controller at Amazon to drop, and likewise the AU$100 cost for Joy-Con controllers. These are tried and tested offers that return sale after sale, so we would be surprised if prices dropped further in 2021.
