Irrational Games has turned its spotlight on the Siren, the final “Heavy Hitter” scheduled to shatter windows and stir up spirits in BioShock Infinite. Sure, she may not look all that intimidating at first glance, but this is one spooky diva you don't want to piss off. Learn how the Siren can turn any battle into a nightmare in the studio's latest enemy trailer:
The Siren possesses the ability to raise fallen foes with her voice, and make players doubly paranoid about turning their back on the corpses of Columbia.
“One of your challenges is going to be: who do I deal with?” explained Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine. “Do I deal with the Siren, because if I kill her, all the enemies she brought back to life will also return to their graves. Or do I deal with the guys who are actually shooting me. And I think that’s one of the real tensions that you have in the battle.”
Levine added the Siren was included in BioShock Infinite as an homage to the spiritual movement that swept through western society at the turn of the century. That's all well and scholarly, but we're guessing players will be too creeped out by her appearance to ruminate on the game's social commentary.
