The LEGO Batman movie has found its Joker

The first Lego movie spinoff has gained another actor who's now poised to enter the vocal booth, with THR reporting that Zach Galifianakis is in the final stages of negotiations for the Lego Batman movie. Should he wrangle a deal with Warner Bros., The Hangover comedian is on track to voice Batman's most famous nemesis: The Joker.

Aside from his esoteric live-action work, Galifianakis has lent his voice to a number of animated projects in the past, including American Dad! and Puss In Boots. He joins Will Arnett, who reprises his role as Bruce Wayne's alter-ego, and Michael Cera, who recently signed on to play Batman's long-running sidekick Robin.

With the original Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller wrapped up in development on the Han Solo Anthology movie, the pair have passed the reins to Chris McKay. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies writer Seth Grahame-Smith is scripting the movie.

The Lego Batman movie opens on February 10, 2017.
