Anarchy Reigns finished says Platinum Games, but release date unknown

fter the unbelievable enjoyment we got out of bothVanquishandBayonetta, there may not be another game in all of the industry that we're looking forward to more than Platinum Games' Anarchy Reigns. The developer has some serious talent, and according to them, their next game is finished. But Sega isn't ready to release it yet. According to them, the release is "TBC."

“That means ‘to be confirmed’, not ‘to be cancelled’,” a Platinum representative said in a video announcement. “We worked really hard to make sure everybody could get the game on time. The game is fully localised. If you buy the Japanese version or any version, it’s going to have all the languages in it. We really wanted everybody online around the world to play together at the same time, but unfortunately that’s not going to happen.”

“In the West, Sega is looking for the best time to put it out. It will still be out in July. There will still be ways for you to get it if you know where to go. We’re still 100 per cent behind the game and we still want to connect with you and play with you and have a good time. So let’s make sure that happens no matter what bad news we get.”

While there's part of us that wants to beat up Sega like a kid who wont share his Halloween candy, we actually kind of appreciate this strategy. On one hand it's bad that we wont get the game right away, but on the other hand, we'd rather have Sega release this game with surgical precision than have it have trouble selling like Vanquish did.

You may also remember Platinum Games as the studio that took over Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
