Win! Five copies up for grabs on Blu-ray
Say what you will about him, but there’s little denying Danny Dyer has a surprisingly fervent fanbase. Making his name with mid-noughties “guns and geezers” movies such as The Football Factory and The Business he’s made some interesting steps into genre fare (in particular the brilliant Severance ) in recent years. The latest of which is 7 Lives , Released on DVD & Blu-ray 10 October; on demand and download 1 November through Sky PPV and VOD, FilmFlex, LOVEFiLM, BlinkBox, BT Vision, iTunes and PlayStation Network.
“Tom (Danny Dyer) is a family man down on his luck and being seduced by a client at work with promises of a more exciting life. On his way home one night he is attacked by a gang of hoodies who beat him to within an inch of his life. Then the real nightmare begins.
He falls into a parallel world where he lives five other lives, including a Rock Star, a homeless person, a boxer and also the hoodie that attacked him. With each ‘life’ representing his deepest desires and his darkest fears, Tom must fight for his life in order to get home....”
So not your usual dire straight-to-video fare then. The UK premiere of 7 Lives is today at Mile End Genesis with cast and crew in attendance. There are limited public tickets available to order from the cinema’s website www.genesiscinema.co.uk . The film will then play at several Apollo cinema sites, including Apollo Piccadilly Circus from Saturday. 7 Lives also be available on DVD and Blu-ray from Monday 10 October. I'm the Managing Editor, Entertainment here at GamesRadar+, overseeing the site's film and TV coverage. In a previous life as a print dinosaur, I was the Deputy Editor of Total Film magazine, and the news editor at SFX magazine. Fun fact: two of my favourite films released on the same day - Blade Runner and The Thing.
