6 moments from the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle trailer that prove it's a video game movie

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has its first full trailer and it's irrefutable proof that The Rock and company are making a true video game movie - even if it's not based on an actual video game. The original Jumanji had some action scenes, sure, but its sequel is going full tongue-in-cheek and over-the-top with stunts and special effects.

Seriously, the only things keeping it from proper video game territory are a season pass and a loot box system. Take a look.

The first-person drop into superhero landing

Those destructible environments, tho

And those slow-motion explosive kicks

Rhinos vs. helicopter is the next 4v1

I hope Jack Black had some extra lives

And the bit where they're sucked into a video game, obviously

Still not sure what you're looking at here? Read about Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle's new body-swapping premise and how it continues the story from the original Robin Williams film.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
