Agent 47 hasn't aged a day in this Hitman: Absolution gameplay teaser
New clip shows off quickfire action in-game
If you're new to the decade-old Hitman franchise, this gameplay teaser for Hitman: Absolution should serve as good an intro as any. All the salient points are here: lush environments, a subtle cinematic refinement, and a bald dude who doesn't say much but sure is good at killin'. For a forty-something-year-old guy who's been out of action since 2006, Agent 47 hasn't lost his edge.
Above: The bald look is a great way to cover up the signs of aging. But throwing younger men off a ledge works too
Dated for a 2012 release, Hitman: Absolution will be the fifth title in IO Interactive's series and the first to be published by Square Enix. The game uses IO's Glacier 2 engine to update the original Hitman mechanics of sneaking, disguise and combat. When we first saw the game in June, it was hard to be sure whether the glimpses on show were pre-renders; this clip offers an in-game perspective on the same action, so now you can judge for yourself.
