The v2012 update for Super
Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition is live, bringing with it a wealth
of changes intended to restore balance to the game's roster of
fighters. The changes implemented in the free download have been a long time in the works, and come at
the behest of the fan and tournament communities; the list of tweaks
is pretty exhaustive, so you're probably best off downloading it yourself to browse by character.
To mark the occasion, Capcom
is having a sale on downloadable content for the PlayStation 3
version of the game. The Arcade Edition and Arcade Challengers packs
are down to $9.99 and $1.99 respectively, offering 30-50% off the
regular download price. Costume packs are also down from $17.99 to
$4.99; these prices are in effect until Jan 10 of next year. Capcom
has said this will be the game's final update – but if anyone
releases a fighting game with a more convoluted name than Super
Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition v2012, expect a “Turbo” update
or something, just to prove a point.
