Super Meat Boy’s ultra rad ‘90s commercial

The oldschool game gets a fittingly oldschool ad

Old things are always better – and Team Meat, the developer for Super Meat Boy, understands this. The ultra rad and retro ‘90s commercial for the upcoming Xbox LIVE/WiiWare platformer is packed with embarrassingly fuzzy VHS artifacts, and boldly brags about features, like the ability to “test your skills,” and “push the buttons.” In short, it’s pretty much the best video you’ve seen today. Yes, it’s better than that new Call of Duty: Black Ops teaser we recently posted.

The commercial version of Super Meat Boy will be available on Xbox LIVE on October 20. It will be available for WiiWare, PC, and Mac in November. As always, you can play the less ‘super’ Flash version of Meat Boy on Newgrounds.

oh dear god im sick of ads... not that ad cause that was awesome but the comment ads, do they honestly think anyone is going to follow their links, i mean sure maybe on a crappy flash game site where there are 6 year olds but here?

So pumped for this. I already 100%'d the flash version, working on the map pack now. Don't think I'll 100% that before Super Meat Boy comes out... dammit. On the upside, a vid on Team Meat's site, a 20-min commentary through the basics of the game, shows a black silhouette of a boy (well, Meat Boy-esque boy) with white glowing eyes about 10 minutes in. Sound familiar?
