Sony teases a glimpse at "the future" Feb. 20

Sony will have some PlayStation news next month. The company released this brief teaser video which promises to let gamers "see the future" on February 20 at 6 p.m. EST.

There's no PlayStation 3 or Vita branding there--just the classic PS logo which has endured since the first system's debut in 1994. Everybody's thinking PlayStation 4 at this point, and we will be incredibly surprised if Sony doesn't have something to show for it. It would be kind of hilarious if it was all for a PSV 2000 model, though, wouldn't it?

Check out our PlayStation 4 rumor roundup for some hints at what we may see next month.

It needs to be very competitive to the new Xbox to make me consider purchasing it first. I was a die hard Sony fanboy, hated the Xbox but loved the PS2. When they said the PS3 was $600, the Xbox 360 and its achievment system was looking MIGHTY attractive.

Introducing the PS3 Omega Slim! It's as thin as paper! (Do not look at the console as it will break)

There is a Wall Street Journal article titled "Sony to Unveil PS3 Successor", but might just a rumor amongst investors. I can't see the full article since I wouldn't dream of reading the WSJ.

Let me get this straight. You KNOW OF an article in the Wall Street Journal talking about the new Playstation, but you cant see it because you refuse to read the Wall Street Journal. Just let that soak in and realize how ridiculous it sounds, then get back to me.

Eh, its hard to say, but if its Sony's way of showing a direction that will benefit them, then go for it.

I have a feeling people are going to be let down.

Probably means nothing, but the way the letters looked in certain angles reminded me to the startup video of the PS2... Ah, Sony's prime. Wishful thinking of course, but maybe it could signify they're looking to try and recapture what made the PS2 so great to begin with? (And by that, I mean games first and foremost.)
