Dead Man Running review

This year’s most baffling cast list includes Danny Dyer, Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson and, um, Brenda Blethyn.

Relegated to a subplot, Blethyn sadly never shares the screen with Fiddy; instead, the main action revolves around travel agents Tamer Hassan and Danny Dyer, who find themselves with 24 hours to raise £100,000 for crime boss Mr Thigo (a charisma-free Jackson).

The colourful Cockney swearing entertains, but it’s hard to excuse the Grand Canyon-sized plot holes.

The combined effect is amiable rubbish embodied by Dyer, who continues to walk a tightrope between laughing stock and national treasure.
