Activision teases Amazing Spider-Man movie tie-in and new Tony Hawk reveals for VGAs

The Spike VGAs keep adding more and more reveals to its list. Hell, at this point they may have as many reveals planned as they have terrible jokes written for bored celebrities to humorlessly repeat. Activision seems to have a bit planned, as the publisher revealed today that on top of a new trailer for its upcoming Transformers game, we’d get info on new entries in the Spider-Man and Tony Hawk franchises. Check out the Spidey teaser/

As you can see in the teaser above, the already announced Amazing Spider-Man game is based on next year’s film and most interesting of all it features a return to the open world gameplay that made Spidey games famous. Developed by Beenox (they did the last two Spider-Man games), the title finally got an official web page in the lead up to the full trailer at the VGAs this Saturday.

Meanwhile Tony Hawk himself used his Twitter to tease a new game at the VGA. He wrote:

“I'll be announcing the upcoming release of something new on Sat; the same day as the Spike Video Game Awards. Coincidence? I think not.”

We haven’t seen much of Hawk since the twin assault of Ride and Shred seemingly killed the series. But after taking a little breather from the series, perhaps the skater game has finally been reinvigorated. We’ll get our first chance to see this Saturday night.

IF ROBOMODO DOES THE NEXT TH GAME I'LL BE FUCKING PISSED. I WANT NEVERSOFT BACK. If this game isn't a THPS5 or a THUG4 or has gameplay similar to them then the series is going to be dead to me... again.

I hope Activision put Neversoft back to work on the Tony Hawk game.

Spiderman? Meh... After the first dozen I got bored, same shit different day. And after the third movie, I just gave up hope altogether. It was pure nationalistic propaganda... A patriotic hero fighting against SANDman and the symbiot who looks curiously similar to oil... Call my crazy, but when my tinfoil hat saves my brain from mind control waves coming from Alaska you'll all be sorry. I wouldn't mind a Tony Hawk game though, I loved how ridiculous the Undergrounds were. Skate is a great game, don't get me wrong. But when I want to unleash the gates of hell and run through Zombies in New Orleans (and I almost always do) I pop in a Hawk game :D Half of that post was unnecessary... Deal with it. P.S. we should start a petition to get Legend of Dragoon on PSN. Just sayin'

@Ziek117: I hope Tony Hawk goes back to controller, too. If not, I'm lookin' for proving ground.

Tony Hawk needs to go back to controller only. But even if, there will probably be kinect and move support.

I can't get over how Mirror's Edge white that that city looks. It's like they blew their whole paint budget on Spidey's suit.
