Sarah Connor needs help in new Terminator: Genisys spot: watch now

A brand new action-packed TV spot for Terminator: Genisys has debuted online. Following on from previous trailers, this latest snippet delves into what makes the fourth instalment so mystifying - it’s a reset.

In Alan Taylor’s take on the franchise, the events of the original movie are revised. So, when Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) is sent back to 1984 instead of meeting a frail poufy-haired waitress, he’s greeted by an ass-kicking version of Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) who has spent her childhood being raised by a Guardian T-800 (Arnold Schwarznegger).

This one-minute clip boasts quite a lot of brand new footage. Check it out below:

Finally, after a noticeable absence from the movie’s marketing, J.K. Simmons’ character is given a tasty introduction. Detective O’Brien has been described as a weary cop who’s followed the bizarre case of Sarah Connor for over 30 years. His humour seems to take over his weariness in this little clip that finds him promising to help Sarah save the world.

Elsewhere there’s a better glimpse at the new form of Terminator set to make its appearance. The best description of which comes from Jason Clarke. In the role of John Connor he echoes the words said by Michael Biehn in The Terminator (“it can’t be bargained with, it can’t be reasoned with..”) with eerie precision.

The battle against Skynet will continue this summer when Terminator: Genisys opens in the US on July 1, and the UK on July 3.
