Lollipop Chainsaw's cast stars Batman, Smallville, and Walking Dead talent

We already know Lollipop Chainsaw will rock an off-beat aesthetic, but thanks to the newly released cast list, we now know its voices will match the visuals. Perk your ears as Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville's Lex Luthor), and Tara Strong (Batman: Arkham City's Harley Quinn) introduce the colorful voice talent behind Grasshopper Manufacture's next project.

In case you zoned out during the montage, Lollipop Chainsaw will star a number of actors familiar to geeks and fanboys of all stripes. It includes an appearance by The Walking Dead's Michael Rooker as the intimidating “Vikke”, Freks and Geeks's Lindsay Weir as “Cordelia”, and Saw's Shawnee Smith as the trippy “Mariska”.

The cast of Lollipop Chainsaw is taking direction from cult film writer and director James Gunn (Slither, Super), who recently waxed poetic about penning the game's script with Joystiq, saying, "In films, it's hard to say 'we're trying to do something new in a movie' -- it's kind of a simple thing. Games are infinitely more complex than film, and there's still so much stuff that hasn't been done, it's really exciting, because there's just so much untrampled ground. That's cool. There's so many things that haven't been done."

It's arguable Buffy did it first, but we like where Gunn is going with Suda 51's “un-deadly” vision. See where it's at in our latest preview, and where it ends up when Lollipop Chainsaw rips in to PS3 and Xbox 360 on June 12 in North America, and June 15 in the UK.
