Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still coming, but it remains on series creator Michel Ancel's backburner. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot spoke with Polygon about the fate of the long-awaited sequel, and why fans have another of Ancel's whimsical properties to blame for the delays.

"What's very important is that Michel Ancel is kind of doing too many things at the same time," Guillemot said. "He was working on Rayman Origins last year, and he's working a lot on Rayman Legends this year. So, you know, when he does that, he kind of puts too much of his time on the other projects that he has."

Beyond Good & Evil was polished up in an HD re-release last year, but Guillemot said Ubisoft still wants to continue the story. Unfortunately, there are only so many hours in the day--even in France--and Rayman Legends was already delayed from launching on Wii U this month to the first quarter of 2013.

"[T]here are so many things that have to be done that, you know, this one is going to come in line at one point, but at the moment Michel is really on Rayman Legends."
