Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced lead begs fans to "please play us when when GTA 6 comes out" as he teases post-launch support plans
Following on from previous AC games
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced game director, Richard Knight, hopes people are still playing his remade pirateventure by the time GTA 6 comes out this November.
Modern Assassin's Creed games have typically had surprisingly long legs with Ubisoft supporting titles such as Assassin's Creed Shadows and Odyssey for months or sometimes even years after their initial release dates. There aren't any concrete plans for a Black Flag Resynced roadmap just yet - at least, not one that's been made public - but an extensive post-launch tail is looking ever more likely.
Asked about whether Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced would be supported for at least a year, Richard Knight tells JorRaptor that he "can't say anything officially," but the suggestion "doesn't feel like a crazy bet" because "we definitely need to support the game."
"We need to, you know, fix bugs," the game's lead explains. "Sorry for anyone running into bugs, uh, they hurt - they're painful for us, too. And we do want to add some quality-of-life stuff. So, I mean, it's a pretty reasonable guess." So far, those quality-of-life updates include an upcoming New Game Plus mode and a toggle to hide Edward's blow pipe.
The Black Flag Resynced director didn't put a proper timeframe out there, but he did ask fans to "please play us when when GTA 6 comes out," perhaps suggesting us seafarers will get something new before the year ends.
DLC plans are also not official but not too outlandish, either. "I know some folks on the team have DLC ideas," Knight says, though whatever comes next will be more focused on Edward Kenway's story. Don't get too excited about a possible Freedom Cry redux, then.
