What makes the perfect Minecraft seed depends on what you're looking for, but choosing the right one on which to start your new world can make all the difference. Whether you're searching for somewhere beautiful to build your next Minecraft house, the perfect combination of Minecraft biomes, or an area saturated with structures and loot, I've compiled this list of the best Minecraft seeds around.
Any of these seeds can be used in Minecraft Java or Bedrock edition, but do beware that structures don't spawn the same way between versions yet, so I'll let you know below if anything might be missing.
1. Rare swamp village seed
Seed: -47863159906893593
Bear with me, but no, swamp villages don't exist. This is, in fact, a plains village, but it's set right on the border of a huge swamp, and half of the village itself is, in fact, within swamp territory. But what does this mean, and why is it so important?
Well, while there are no swamp villages, there are swamp villagers, and some have their own unique trades. Normally, you would have to transport villagers to a swamp and set up a villager breeding system to obtain them, but, here, they have a chance of spawning naturally. If they don't, you can, um, encourage it much more easily since you're already in a swamp biome.
Places of interest:
- Swamp village (Java): 4,560, 336
- Swamp village (Bedrock): 4,500, 633
- Ruined Nether Portal (Java): 4,520, 392
- Ruined Nether Portal (Bedrock): 4,600, 648
2. Rare jungle village seed
Seed: 1482027696604136370
Like the swamp village, jungle villages also don't technically exist. Also like the swamp villagers, jungle villagers do, and in rare cases like this one, you can get naturally spawning jungle villagers. What makes this village even better, though, is that it just happens to also be on the doorstep of a desert pyramid, so there's plenty of bonus loot to pick up here too. Unfortunately, this one doesn't work so well on Bedrock edition, as the village spawns a little further from the jungle.
Places of interest:
- Jungle village: 576, -208
- Desert temple: 664, -296
3. Quadruple desert village seed
Seed: 486362209
While you may think villages are a great place to get early game loot in a survival world, other structures like shipwrecks and Desert Pyramids can offer even more valuable loot. Combine them all, and you've got a near-perfect survival world start.

In Java edition, this superb seed has four villages, three Desert Pyramids, and a shipwreck within 900 blocks from spawn. In Bedrock, there are three pyramids, two villages, and a shipwreck. They're all pretty close to a Mushroom Fields island, too, so there's loads to work with in this incredible survival seed.
Places of interest:
- Village 1: 0, 0
- Desert Pyramid 1: -136, 24
- Village 2: -192, 32
- Village 3: -144, -176
- Village 4: 48, -144
- Desert Pyramid 2: 24, -232
- Desert Pyramid 3: -328, -376
- Shipwreck 1: -616, -312
- Shipwreck 2: -840, -232
- Mushroom Fields: -1,000, -377
4. Mangrove village island seed
Seed: 4859979374641661651
Here I am with yet more desert villages, but they seem to be the ones that spawn in the best places. This time, four desert villages spawn on an island, in the middle of which sits a very cool mangrove swamp. I love the Mangrove swamp's aesthetic, and think there's definitely potential for a cool mangrove-desert mash-up village build all the way around the island. That makes this seed great for survival and building.
Not a single village spawns on this island in Bedrock edition, I'm afraid, but there are six shipwrecks in the vicinity, so it might still be worth a go for any builders who want a unique canvas.
Places of interest:
- Village 1: 0, 0
- Village 2: -144, 0
- Village 3: -144, -144
- Village 4: 0, -144
- Shipwreck 1: 200, -248
- Shipwreck 2: -168, 40
- Shipwreck 3: -280, -104
5. OP loot survival seed
Seed: 2059666523504992
That inventory I'm showing off in the image above looks pretty sweet, right? You'd think I'd worked hard for those diamonds, iron, and armor. Well, what if I told you that you can get all that gear in a matter of seconds from spawn in this Minecraft survival seed?
This well-known OP loot seed has been around for some time, and you might see a slightly different outcome elsewhere online. There are two weaponsmith houses in one of the three villages at spawn that used to be home to some easy diamonds. That has since changed, and while you can still get five diamonds from one village chest in version 1.19, it stores gold, armor, and a spear since the Mounts of Mayhem update. Still decent. And, by rummaging through a few nearby buried chests, you can still get the four diamonds shown in my screenshot, along with all that other superb loot.
Full iron armor, a diamond pickaxe, and some spare iron for other tools, all within mere blocks of spawn? It doesn't get much better than that.
Places of interest:
6. Challenging building seed
- Iron gear weaponsmith chest: -140, 70, 67
- Another village: 93, 20
- A third village: 141, -193
- Buried diamonds: -118, 59, -102
- More buried diamonds: -102, 70, 201
- Other buried treasure: -102, 70, 217
Seed: 7226627000711902118
I'm obsessed with this land generation, but I'm definitely not a good enough builder to do anything with it. I know there are plenty of people out there who are, though, and if you're one of them, just think of the potential here.
The image above is taken in Java edition, but this building seed is actually even better in Bedrock, where a village spawns on this spectacular monolith. With little houses dotted on platforms all the way up the spike, you'll need to find (read: build) a cool way up.
Places of interest:
- Icy spikes monolith: 2, 13
- Shipwreck (Bedrock): 312, 136
- Village (Java): -368, 176
- Shipwreck (Java): 568, 88
7. Beautiful Cherry Grove seed
Seed: 2048005618087379093
For a completely different but still spectacular Minecraft seed for building on, this lush green spawn island that sits in the middle of a circular cherry grove mountain is a great pick. This seed is better for creative mode builders, as it's an incredibly hard survival seed. Not only is it a bit tough to navigate this mountainous landscape, there's a very well-defended Pillager Outpost nearby and very little resources in the vicinity. However, if you'd like the challenge, I've listed some useful coordinates for survival below.
Places of interest:
- Spawn island: 0, 0
- Pillager outpost (Java): 199, -185
- Cave entrance: -140, 122
- Coal and iron deposit: -235, 128
- Village (Java): -254, 108
- Village (Bedrock): 126, -360
- Pale garden: -450, -530
8. Cool Badlands lake seed
Seed: 8888947383120075748
As one of the warmest and driest biomes, the Badlands aren't usually home to large bodies of water. They can sometimes skirt the edge of an ocean, but a scenic lake inside one is fairly rare. This one is not only on the precipice of a dauntingly vast dripstone cave, but it's also close to a village and two other beautiful lakes for building near. Oh, and it's right at spawn. Just be sure to prepare a bucket of water before dropping into that cave.
Places of interest:
- Badlands lake: 97, -31
- Plains lake: 39, 67
- Jungle lake: -157, 160
- Village: 121, 170
- Huge cave: 163, -88
9. Stunning frozen lake building seed
Seed: -123456793079414942
There are a few great seeds for ice-themed builds, but this stunning icescape is a two-for-one. The huge frozen lake you can see in the image above is the ideal setting for an epic fantasy build, but if it's a little daunting, then there's an equally gorgeous frozen river to the north. If you're planning to tackle this on survival mode and are playing on Java edition, there's a snowy taiga village between the two, where you can pick up some food, a bundle, and even some iron armor.
Places of interest:
- Frozen lake: 500, -53
- Taiga village (Java): 544, -240
- Frozen river: 600, -335
10. All biome continent seed
Seed: -4995054936707021313
I've checked, and, as of 26.1, this seed literally has every single biome on or surrounding the spawn continent. That includes the rare ones (like Mushroom Fields) and variants (like Old Growth forests, snowy variants, or Stony Shores). Thanks to the current parity levels, this works for both Java 26.1 and Bedrock 26.1. What makes this survival seed even better in that everything you'll ever need can also be found on this continent, including a Stronghold or two.
Places of interest:
- Forest: -240, 18
- Jungle: -823, 1,326
- Desert: -248, 1,929
- Badlands: -425, 1,880
- Taiga: -368, -35
- Swamp: 391, 831
- Mangrove swamp: 469, 1,528
- Savannah: -348, 1,059
- Pale Garden: -773, 298
- Mushroom Fields island: -2,410, 1,951
- Village (Java): -336, 0
- Village (Bedrock): 136, 120
- Stronghold (Java): -1,420, 1,188
- Stronghold (Bedrock): -396, 1,316
11. Easy diamonds seed
Seed: -5172090044501194762
This incredible survival seed is interesting because of the giant cheese cave right behind you at spawn, which gives you access to iron, copper, coal, and even 13+ Minecraft diamonds within your first day above ground.
My recommendation to get you started is to head straight to the waterfall at -91, 165 and use it to drop down, picking up some wood and any food you see along the way (sorry, piggies). Around this basin, there's enough iron, coal, and stone to get you started, and since it's open to daylight, it's also safe from deadly Minecraft mobs. Once you've got a weapon to hand, some torches, and some cooked chops, head into the cave to the south west, where you can find diamonds at the co-ords below, alongside tons of other useful resources. Keep heading into the cave to the west (use the waterfall at -261, 21, 176), and you'll find another area with over 17 more easily-accessible diamonds.
Places of interest:
- Waterfall: -91, 165
- Cave entrance: -115, 169
- Six diamonds: -172, 186
- Seven diamonds: -176, 204
- Amethyst Geode: -305, -84
- 17+ diamonds: -261, 21, 176
12. Giant quadruple village seed
Seed: -3361685360695458093
If you're sick of the sight of cool desert village seeds, this plains village is truly awesome. Not only are there four villages at spawn, but they're all connected, which I have honestly never seen before. Even better is that they have generated around a lake, so this would make for both an incredible survival seed and a great building seed - or both. Sadly, though, I'm afraid this only generates this way on Java edition.
Points of interest:
- Blacksmith chest 1: -36, -21
- Leatherworker chest: -163, -129
- Library 1: -150, -168
- Library 2: -94, -151
- Blacksmith chest 2: 10, -146
- Nether Portal: 199, -263
- Pillager Outpost: 63, -326
13. Ancient City cluster Minecraft seed
Seed: 111111111111111111
If you're a fan of the Minecraft Warden's Deep Dark home, then this is the perfect seed for you. Making for a serious survival challenge, there are an unbelievable 30 Ancient Cities within 5,000 blocks of spawn. 5,000 blocks is quite a lot, granted, but this is still a seriously saturated area of connecting underground cities. The way to tackle the majority of these cities is by simply travelling along the z-axis at about -600 at y = -51, and you'll find yourself travelling through near-constant Ancient City structures. Just remember to keep quiet.
I've listed the co-ordinates for just a few of these cities below for Java edition, but using this seed on Bedrock features an even more condensed line of cities at z-axis 600.
Places of interest:
- Ancient City 1: -1752, -51, -760
- Ancient City 2: -2,200, -51, -696
- Ancient City 3: -2,856, -51, -680
- Ancient City 4: -3,240, -51, -568
- Ancient City 5: -3,752, -51, -600
- Ancient City 6: -3,704, -51, -376
- Ancient City 7: -4,008, -51, -568
- Ancient City 8: -4,568, -51, -360
- Ancient City 9: -4,776, -51, -536
14. Ancient City spawn Minecraft seed
Seed: 1606377695512438131
If the previous seed involves a little too much walking for you, then give this one a go instead. It spawns you directly in an Ancient City. The reason this works is to do with Minecraft's spawn mechanics as the block on which you spawn in open to the air above you. It just so happens that the first solid block below you is at -42... and slap bang in the middle of an Ancient City.
Of course, exploring this structure with nothing but the clothes on your back is a little dangerous, but exercise that sneak (and some serious patience), and you can pick up some valuable loot pretty fast, including tons of diamonds. If and when you want to get out, any of the waterfalls around spawn take you to ground level, just make sure you take in the spectacular view on the way up.
Places of interest:
- Ancient City: 0, 0
- Valuable loot: 46, -14
- Escape waterfall: 6, 8
- Village (Java): 208, 0
15. Underground Desert Pyramid seed
Seed: 2482490754905255652
It's incredibly rare, but in much the same way as player spawn works in the previous seed, the same can sometimes be said for structures. This Minecraft seed has a perfect example of that as a Desert Pyramid has somehow spawned on the underground lava floor.
Believe it or not, this is an incredible Minecraft survival seed. To start with, there's even a very easy way down. Simply head to the water pool at x=16, z=-12, break some clay, and create a waterfall down to the lava floor. This not only gets you to the temple itself, but also right next to a vein of six easy diamonds (just beware of the lava!). What's more, due to the light from the lava pool, you're pretty safe from monsters here, too.
Despite being a desert, this area is also home to a vast lush cave, meaning there are a few trees above ground. There's a mineshaft nearby too, but I'd still recommend picking up some wood before you drop down.
Warning. Yes, Desert Pyramids are usually home to valuable loot. Heading beneath this one, though, will spell your doom due it spawning at Bedrock.
Places of interest:
- Water pool: 16, -12
- Underground Desert Temple: 21, -54, 0
- Six diamonds: 31, -54, 0
- Four diamonds: -30, -50, 2
- Mineshaft: 0, 32, -32
16. Vast Pale Garden seed
Seed: -9109021518918270118
One of the rarer and newer Minecraft biomes, the Pale Garden is also one of the most unique and incredible. Featuring creepy flowers that open up at night, its own daunting sound effects, and the deadly Creaking mob, this is a biome you absolutely have to see for yourself. Whether you want to build with its clean, white oak blocks, farm resin, or just get up close and personal with the biome-specific mob, this seed is a great place to go thanks to its huge Pale Garden biome.
While you do have to journey a few hundred blocks to get there, this is still a prime Pale Garden seed for those playing on Java edition. Not only is there a lot of the biome to see here, but there's also an Ancient City beneath part of it. More spectacularly, there are two patches of Pale Garden with Woodland Mansions sitting in front, making for some great places to build a home.
Places of interest:
- Village: -192, -192
- Pale Garden 1: 727, -628
- Woodland Mansion 1: 776, -552
- Nether Portal: 696, -600
- Ancient City: 840, -54, -664
- Pale Garden 2: 1,835, -479
- Woodland Mansion 2: 1,848, -424
17. Mushroom Field spawn seed
Seed: -4060923543525723839
The impossibly rare Mushroom Fields spawn has been a constant source of interest in the Minecraft community for years, and if you'd like to hear more about it, Minecraft@Home has a very informative video. In that same video, we learn about perhaps the only Mushroom Fields spawn since 1.18. Unfortunately, spawn mechanics have since been changed yet again, and you won't spawn on this mushroom island in any version other than 1.18. Since you now spawn on a desert coastline, there are also no trees to craft a boat.
Instead, I found this great alternative for a safe survival seed spawn. While you don't spawn directly onto a Mushroom Fields biome, you instead spawn right on top of a tree on a nearby coastline. Chop it down, get yourself a quick crafting table and boat, and you'll be in the mob-free confines of the Mushroom Field in no time, ready to start your new survival or even hardcore world. Oh, and that is a full shipwreck next to spawn too, so you can pick up some quick iron and a buried treasure map, too. This one works on both Java and Bedrock edition, but of course nearby structures may differ.
Places of interest:
- Shipwreck 1 (Java): 88, -72
- Shipwreck 2 (Java): 88, 24
- Shipwreck (Bedrock): 88, 216
- Mushroom Fields island: 15, 302
- Nearest village (Java): -448, -544
- Nearest village (Bedrock): -488, -248
18. Amazing Bedrock survival seed
Seed: 6284773292341205277
Since most of the seeds on this list were found with Java in mind, here's a fantastic survival seed that's better for Bedrock players. Head away from spawn in the direction you're already facing, and pop into the narrow, mountainside cave for some iron and coal. Then, head down the hill to what is one of the most rewarding villages I've ever seen with an unbelievable four Blacksmith houses - home to the most valuable chests you can find in Minecraft villages. There's also a librarian and a brewing stand in this village, and we'd recommend using the librarian to get some decent Minecraft enchantments.
Once you're geared up enough, you can then head into the massive cave near the Cleric's home, and start looking for diamonds. If you don't mind a little help, we've listed the coordinates below for a double diamond vein.
Places of interest:
- Small cave: 18, 144, 59
- Blacksmith chest 1: 195, 173
- Blacksmith chest 2: 195, 184
- Blacksmith chest 3: 180, 205
- Blacksmith chest 4: 195, 120, 271
- Double diamond vein: 216, -30, 206
- Ancient City: 88, -51, 120
- Pillager Outpost: 536, 360
19. Infinite mineshaft seed
Seed: 107038380838084
This is sadly another one that only works in Java edition, but if that's where you play, you're in for a treat. This spectacular seed has a single, infinite mineshaft running through the entire world along the z-axis at -53. This is not only just pretty cool, but mineshafts are also a great place to find spectacular loot, so this is the perfect seed for your next survival world.
If you wanted to spend your entire time following this path, you'd find a Stronghold and a Trial Chamber among other things, but you'll struggle to find an Ancient City. The nearest to the mineshaft is at -5,608, 152.
Places of interest:
- Infinite mineshaft: any, 0, -53
- Trial Chamber: 87, 0, -36
- Stronghold portal room: 1,487, 7, -53
- Ancient City: -5,608, -51, 152
20. WR speedrun seed
Minecraft mods: Give some of these a go
Minecraft axolotl: The cutest predator
Minecraft honeycomb: The sweetest ingredient
Minecraft shaders: Make sure your world looks the part
Minecraft skins: Make sure you look the part
Seed: -1950884254474434485
Because of the nature of speedruns, there are a few options for this one. The most well-known speedrun category is Random Seed Glitchless, which involves players setting out on a completely random seed and hoping to get lucky with RNG. Then there's Set Seed Glitchless, which is much faster given players can practice, and that the seed was specifically chosen for its ideal generation.
Next, there are different version numbers to consider. There are many older speedruns held on 1.7, while the most popular is 1.16, before Piglin trading rates were changed. That said, there are still those who like to challenge themselves on 1.20+.
Given that we're talking about the most recent Minecraft version here, I've included the set seed used by KenanKardes for their current Glitchless Set Speed 1.20+ speedrun record. Naturally, if you wanted to try a random seed speedrun for yourself, well, you don't need a seed. However, if you'd like to practice the truly unbelievable runs by records holders like KenanKardes and lowkey, this is a great place to start. Can you get credits to roll in under 1:15?
