If you’re a spoiler-phobe then it make sense to avoid things like set photos and trailer breakdowns but, with Avengers 4, you may have to take that to a whole 'nother level. That’s because Avengers 4’s title will be a spoiler for Avengers: Infinity War – which is why it hasn’t been revealed yet.
Speaking to CinemaBlend, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige teased that the reason 2019’s Avengers 4 doesn’t have a set title yet is because it’s a spoiler. His response to a question about whether Avengers 4’s title ruins the events of Avengers: Infinity War? “Yeah, for sure.” Welp. That’s definitive.
It’s probably not a leap to see Thanos appear in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 so – taking some inspiration from the comics – it wouldn’t be surprising to see the third Avengers movie finish with something pulled straight from 1991’s The Infinity Gauntlet. Say, wiping out half of the universe with a literal click of the purple tyrant’s fingers. That would make Empire Strikes Back look like child’s play in comparison.
Feige, though, won’t be drawn on whether Thanos will appear in both movies, only stating that “They’re two very different movies, that’s all I’ll say.”
