Maniac has released a second official trailer, and just like the first one, this latest glimpse of Elijah Wood's lady-scalping nutjob is full of boobs, gore and creepiness.
Wood plays Frank, the reclusive owner of a mannequin store, whose serious mummy issues manifest themselves in an unfortunate penchant for abducting, scalping and murdering assorted young women.
Therefore, when local artist Anna asks Frank for help staging her latest exhibition, it seems as though things might not pan out so well for her…
Take a look at the new trailer, below…
If director Franck Khalfoun has managed to translate the off-beam weirdness of that trailer into the finished article, we could be in for a real treat, with Elijah Wood surprisingly unsettling as the titular lunatic.
Boasting a script from Piranha 3D revivalist Alexandre Aja, Maniac will open in the UK later in the year, with a specific release date yet to be confirmed.
