Xbox 360 isn't exactly short of first-person shooters but a surprise X06 announcement sees Doom, the genre's granddaddy, hit Xbox Live Arcade.
Available now over the service, all four of the original Doom episodes (yes, four, including Ultimate Doom's Thy Flesh Consumed) can be played with up to four-player co-op. And, as it's the game that coined the term 'deathmatch', four-player killfests will also feature - which will likely take some adjusting to, being set before the days of quad-camping rocket hogs or dual-wielded Needlers.
In other Live Arcade X06 news, five new Arcade titles (including the sequel to Mutant Storm) will be released before the end of the year, as well as Lumines Live and four retro titles: Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Defender, Contra and Gyruss.
