Jena Malone to appear in Batman v Superman in mystery role

Batman v Superman might already be packing a seriously over-stacked cast list, but there’s apparently room for one more, with Jena Malone set to appear in the film.

According to THR , Malone will feature in a “mystery role”, with no details confirmed as yet regarding who exactly she’ll be playing.

Rumour has it that she could be appearing as a female version of Robin, although there’s nothing concrete on that front. A potential headline maker in the works there…

Carrie Kelley is another potential character to have been mentioned in the report, a young woman who was rescued by Batman as a child and who pops up in the Frank Miller miniseries The Dark Knight Returns that Zack Snyder has name-checked as inspiration.

In any case, Malone will line up alongside Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Jesse Eisenberg when the film opens in the UK on 25 March 2016.
