Though we're over a week away from Black Friday itself, and it's still a few days until PlayStation's own discounts begin on November 21, a rogue PS5 deal has appeared in the wild. It's not the best discount we've ever seen, but hopefully now the levee has broken.
You can currently pick up the PlayStation 5 Digital Console, or PS5 Slim as it's popularly known, for a $25 discount at Walmart. That brings the cost down to $474.98, which is still quite a bit for a console, but it's cheapest price available now without looking at the refurb shelves. And since the price cut is on the digital edition, it's a decent saving over the disc model too.
PS5 Digital Console | $499.99 $474.98 at Walmart
Save $25.01 - It's still $100 from the lowest-ever price we've seen, but this online-only Walmart deal is your way of getting a PS5 before Black Friday's even begun
UK: £409 at EE
If you're not versed in the differences between the PS5 models, there's one important thing to note about the PS5 Slim, which is perhaps given away by the fact it's mainly called the Digital Console.
This is that there's no disc slot, so you can't use physical games on the console. Instead, you have to rely solely on digital purchases through Sony's store, as well as gaming through PS Premium.
Should you buy the PS5 Slim?
The PS5 Digital Console isn't ideal for people who like buying physical games, especially second-hand or lent ones, but it is cheaper than the slot-toting console.
But what about this deal in particulary? Honestly, I'd be staggered if Black Friday didn't bring a better discount to the PS5 Slim, but that doesn't mean you should skip this discount.
One of the problems with Black Friday deals is that the ones on big-ticket items (like the PS5) can sell out very quickly. Sometimes, you have to be online at just the right time to pick up a console, and there's no forewarning of when that time will be.
If you buy a console ahead of time, you can rest easy knowing you won't be fighting off the online hordes to get your PS5. Instead you can use the sales to buy any accessories you need, or digital titles via PlayStation's store.
