This mega-cute Eevee Switch 2 pouch is a Valentine's Day gift no-brainer for Pokemon fans

Now that the handheld has been out for over 7 months, there's a plethora of cute Nintendo Switch 2 accessories out there that would make the perfect gift, but few scream Valentine's Day more than Hori's Eevee Cottage Core Puff Pouch.

For one, this official Switch 2 pouch features actual hearts throughout its design, which are delicately printed alongside a bunch of little Eevee illustrations. Secondly, this case is down to just $29.99 at Amazon today, a saving of $7 off its $29.99 MSRP. Today's deal price is a few dollars away from a record low, but it's still a great bargain if you can't quite budget for a flashy bit of jewellery or a trip to the nearest posh restaurant. If your player 2 is a Pokemon fan, this official accessory is one worth catching.

Save $7 - Stock of the rest of the Switch 2 Eevee Cottage Core line is starting to sell out at US and UK retailers alike, so I recommend grabbing this even without a record low price while you can. With Amazon's speedy shipping, it should arrive with plenty of time to get it wrapped for February 14 too.

Buy it if:

✅ They own a Switch 2
Your Valentine loves Eevee and Pokemon

Don't buy it if:

❌ Your Valentine prefers Pikachu
❌ They already own a Switch 2 case

First and foremost, make sure your Valentine has a Nintendo Switch 2 before grabbing this Switch 2 case, or any other accessories. While you can fit the older Switch in the case (I've checked myself with a Switch OLED), it's a bit baggy around the edges and better suits Nintendo's newer console.

It also helps if they're a fan of not just Pokemon, but Eevee in particular, too. If you have both of those boxes ticked, this is more than an accessory worth gifting this Valentine's Day. People often think of cutesy gifts for the holiday, and the entire Eevee Cottage Core line is all about that. The art featured on this pouch in particular is some of the cutest I've seen on an official Pokemon product, and I've been collecting merch, including the Pokemon TCG, since the 90s.

Between the little hearts, some of the Eevee are sleeping, and it's enough to send me, a full-grown 30-something adult, into a cute psychosis. The creamy white and light blue colorway is so dainty that it ups the cute factor even more. All it's missing is some lace, and I could have easily envisioned my own Gran sporting this case back in the day.

Like most of Hori's Switch 2 goodies, it's not just cute, but it's actually pretty handy. The pouch features space to store your Switch 2, 6 physical games, and there's a baggy storage compartment that I've even managed to fit in the matching Eevee Cottage Core Game Storage Case that's $12.99 at Amazon, along with it.

I've not taken my own version of this case outside quite yet, so I can't report on exactly how protective it is. It doesn't utilize a hardshell design, so it's not going to withstand a beating, and your loved one is better off with something like the Hori Gengar and Mimikryu case if that's what they're looking for. Otherwise, this Eveee pouch is a great gift idea for fans of all things pretty and Pokemon.

Hardware Editor

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
