Subnautica 2 hit 5 million Steam wishlists days before its early access launch, so "every player" gets a special gift
It's on "every platform"
We're just days away from aquatic survival game Subnautica 2 launching, and the team's crossed another major benchmark just in time for early access. The sequel has now moved over the five million mark for wishlists on Steam, an impressive achievement, and developer Unknown Worlds Entertainment is giving everyone a reward.
Unknown Worlds devs recently posted about it on the Subnautica 2 Steam page. "Ever since we announced Subnautica 2, the excitement, theories, and support from the entire community has been incredible to watch. As we get closer to Early Access, your enthusiasm has continued to blow us away every single day," the team writes.
"And now, thanks to all of you, Subnautica 2 has officially reached 5 million wishlists," it continues. "That's a massive milestone for the team, and we want to celebrate it with the community that made it possible."
Wishlists are hugely important to PC games on Steam, since they inform what games the platform highlights and pushes in front of prospective players. I don't think Subnautica 2 will need to worry on that front any time soon.
So, to mark such an incredible moment, there's now a little added treat for everyone who decides to plunge into the depths of the underwater base-building adventure. "From the moment Early Access launches, every player across every platform will receive the Reaper Leviathan Statue blueprint," Unknown Worlds says, adding: "Not just during the first week."
A mighty fine little gesture.
If you'd like to claim it sooner rather than later, Subnautica 2 goes into early access on May 14.
