The studio behind Disco Elysium, ZA/UM, is releasing its next RPG, Zero Parades: For Dead Spies, in just a couple of months. To coincide with the announcement of a proper release date, the Steam demo will be available well into April, to help you decide if you want to invest or not.
Per an announcement from ZA/UM, Zero Parades: For Dead Spies will release on Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG on May 26, 2026. At launch, there'll be five languages available in full text localization outside English: German, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish (Latin America).
A further eight, including French, Italian, and Polish will be added in post-release updates. This is part of a concerted effort to provide better localization than Disco Elysium. "This time, we're launching with five languages on day one and committing to a faster cadence," Allen Murray, ZA/UM studio head, said in the statement. "Additional language support begins rolling out at the end of 2026 and continues through 2027."
On top of this news, the Steam Next Fest demo for Zero Parades, offering two full quests and several more hours of the espionage RPG's early game, will remain available up to April 13. This is the studio's first release since nihilistic detective adventure Disco Elysium, which came out in 2019.
While Disco Elysium was a huge success, its legacy is sullied somewhat by a falling out between ZA/UM and its creators. Essentially, four central creatives involved in Disco Elysium parted ways with the studio, leading to conflicting reports on the hows and whys of what happened.
As such, the creative crossover with Zero Parades, a similarly-styled isometric RPG, seems minimal at best. This definitely isn't some lowkey Disco Elysium 2 either. But if you want to try it regardless, Valve's marketplace has the goods.
