Nintendo Switch versions of Capcom's Disney collection have emerged – and it now includes one of the Resident Evil creator's first games
Shinji Mikami's Goof Troop returns
After leaking courtesy of the ESRB earlier this month, the Nintendo eShop has confirmed that Capcom's The Disney Afternoon Collection is finally coming to Switch and Switch 2, now with bonus games.
The Disney Afternoon Collection's absence from Nintendo platforms is still very weird, given that it was released a month after the Switch and was entirely made up of NES games. But earlier this month the collection was rated by the ESRB for Switch and Switch 2, published by Atari – owner of the collection's developer Digital Eclipse – instead of Capcom. And now Nintendo has gone and leaked its existence too.
On the Japanese eShop (spotted by VGC) The Disney Afternoon Collection was listed for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 with a release date set for February 26, 2026 for a price of 2,300 Yen (roughly £10 / £15), although an introductory price will put it down to 2,070 Yen (roughly £9.78 / $13.50).
However, most importantly, this re-release seems to fix the biggest issue with the original release – which is that it was missing two of Capcom's Disney Afternoon games which were released for SNES.
This re-release brings side-scrolling platformer Bonkers and the co-op adventure game Goof Troop. The latter is notable for being one of the first games designed by Shinji Mikami, who would go on to direct and release a little game called Resident Evil three years later.
