007 First Light Dining Room and Fireplace puzzle explained
Investigating the Dining Room has James Bond find a fireplace with buttons and a torn book page
James Bond will need to Investigate the Dining Room in 007 First Light while pursuing the blond man, which leads to a Fireplace puzzle covered in buttons and a mysterious torn page pulled from a book and left behind. The Fireplace itself has the option to press several buttons, all covered with animals, but the torn page itself only shows one creature. I'll explain how to solve the Dining Room and Fireplace puzzle below, and how to progress through the hotel.

Dining Room and Fireplace puzzle solution in 007 First Light
The only clue to the Dining Room and Fireplace puzzle that you'll get is the Torn Book Page, and I'll admit that this is one of the slightly more esoteric puzzles in 007 First Light. I'll tell you now that the solution is to press the Lion, Goat, and Snake buttons on the Fireplace, which opens a secret doorway to the next area, but if you want to know why that's the case, I'll show you below.
See, while the torn page doesn't show any of those animals, it does show a mythical chimera, a fictitious animal hybrid made from a lion, goat, and snake. There's also an optional clue earlier, when looking for the 007 First Light Laundry code, that you can find the book that the blond man tore the page out of, backstage behind the tournament screen. This is a book that seems to show the architecture of the hotel, leading to the assumption that there's something built there for you to find (hence the fireplace).
