How long is 007 First Light? Time to beat and story length explained
To complete the James Bond game will take at least 12 hours, and potentially more than 30
How long is 007 First Light, aka the James Bond game? Its time to beat will vary from player to player, but ultimately this is one of those games that's a little on the shorter side if you're just doing the story. However, that length could extend significantly depending how much you're into replaying and side content, and even more so if you're determined to achieve 100% completion. With multiple members of the GR+ staff having played 007 First Light to compare, we'll lay out the length and how long it'll take you to beat it below.
How long to beat 007 First Light?
The time to beat 007 First Light will depend on what kind of playthrough you're planning on doing, as well as your skill level and interest in replaying sections, but here are some average figures to help you frame what's ahead.
- Just story: 12-17 hours
- 100% completion: 25-35 hours
There are a few factors that make this tricky. For one thing, 007 First Light is a game designed to be replayed, though not quite to the degree that IO Interactive's previous Hitman games were. There are different ways to tackle objectives in various missions, slightly divergent paths, collectibles to find and more besides, so to see everything in the game will require a few playthroughs.
It's also true that this James Bond game can be surprisingly challenging for a power fantasy character. I wouldn't go so far as to call it an overtly hard game (there are multiple difficulty settings) but there are moments that can require a few attempts, especially if you're not hugely familiar with action games.
Finally, First Light contains a secondary game mode called Tacsim, where James Bond can engage in various combat and stealth challenges, unlocking new outfits, weapons and gadgets throughout. This adds a healthy amount of playtime onto the game, especially if you enjoy the core gameplay loop.
