Enabling Fortnite 2FA, or multi-factor authentication, on your Epic Games account is an important security measure, as it will help protect your profile and reduce the risk of hackers gaining access to it. While turning on this two factor authentication isn't mandatory to play the game in general, there are certain tournaments and events that you won't be able to access unless you have 2FA enabled, so it just makes sense to have this additional layer of security in place.
With two-factor authentication, an extra check will be performed whenever you enter your password to confirm it's definitely you trying to access your Fortnite account – usually this is done by sending you a code in an SMS message or asking you to provide a response through an authenticator app. Plus, when you set up 2FA for the first time you'll receive the exclusive Boogie Down emote, and a selection of useful items in Save the World for free. How to enable two factor authentication
To enable two factor on your Fortnite account, simply head to Fortnite.com/2FA. Log in to your Epic Games account and underneath the option to change your password, you should see the prompt to enable either email 2FA or authenticator app 2FA. Pick your preferred choice and follow the instructions on screen to enable Fortnite 2FA authentication.

Fortnite two factor authentication, 2FA, or multi-factor authentication makes your account more secure by requiring a second layer of authentication when logging into your account. The way it works is that whenever the game detects a login from a new device, it will ask for proof that it's you in one of two ways. You'll either be asked for a code sent only to the account holder via email, or be asked for a code from an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy. It means your account should be completely secure against hacks and password leaks.
If you're a regular player with plenty of gear in your locker that you've bought or earned over time, you definitely don't want to risk losing it or access to your account, so Fortnite 2FA should be a priority for you.

Enabling 2FA on your account will get you the Fortnite Boogie Down emote, so the next time you log in you should receive your reward automatically.
