The Hunger Games exceeded all expectations at the box office (coming third in terms of US grosses in 2012) and made us remember that teen-lit adaptations could actually be cool.
Much of its success was down to Jennifer Lawrence steely Katniss, the kind of tough-edged heroine too rarely seen these days.
Anticipation is mounting for the sequel, official titled The Hunger Games: Catching Fire , and a first official still has been revealed via EW.com ’s Facebook page .
The image sees Sam Claflin’s Finnick Odair (famed as much for his good looks and charm as for his prowess in the arena) getting close to Katniss, although she doesn't look as if she's been won over just yet.
