Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two - First details emerge

Around the office we were big fans of Disney's Epic Mickey, which was Mickey's best adventure in gaming to date and one of the most creative titles the Wii had seen. We weren't sure about the series future at the time, but after months of rumors, the Associated Press has confirmed what we expected: There will be an Epic Mickey 2! And it's not only coming to the Wii, but also the PS3 and 360. Here's the first official screen:

Officially titled Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, the sequel is helmed by Deus Ex/Thief mastermind and the series director for Epic Mickey, Warren Spector. The updates mentioned for the game include full voice acting, an improved camera, and an increased emphasis on music, but most central to the game seems to be co-op between Mickey and his former rival Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. The co-op is apparently drop-in/drop-out, meaning if you play single player, Oswald will still be there the entire time as an AI character. Spector also describes the game as a "musical," though he didn't go into much detail about how that will work within the gameplay.

Though we know the platforms, no date was given in the story. You can read the whole thing here. We'll have more info on the title very soon.
