Everyone's favorite evil genius will return for The Boys prequel Vought Rising, which is set to premiere sometime after the flagship series ends.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Ethan Slater is set to reprise his role as Thomas Godolkin in the upcoming prequel series. We don't have too much information at the moment, though we do know it makes perfect sense for Godolkin to make an appearance, given the timeline in which Vought Rising takes place and the fact that it explores Vought's shady origins... which are especially shady thanks to Godolkin.
If you need a refresher, Godolkin invented the type of Compound V that Homelander and Marie Moreau were both given. We won't spoil too much in case you still haven't gotten around to watching Gen V season 2, but let's just say... Slater's Godolkin is on par with his evil Tin Man in Wicked: For Good (i.e. it's terrifyingly entertaining stuff).
The cast of Vought Rising includes Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Aya Cash as Stormfront, Mason Dye as Bombsight, Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel, and Will Hochman as Torpedo. It might be a while yet before we have a release date, given the fact that filming just wrapped on March 11. After The Boys comes to an end this spring, there may still be a third season of Gen V to look forward to (as we haven't gotten a cancellation confirmation just yet).
Vought Rising does not yet have a release date. The Boys season 5 premieres on Prime Video on April 8. In the meantime, check out our guide to the other best new TV shows on the way in 2026.
