Alien: Earth season 2 is shaping up as Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage has joined the cast in an unnamed mystery role. The series was renewed for a second season back in November following critical acclaim for the first season.
Dinklage's casting (via THR) brings him back to prestige TV after eight seasons as the cunning Tyrion Lannister in HBO's Game of Thrones. Though Game of Thrones waxed and waned throughout its long run, Dinklage's performance as Tyrion was consistently praised as one of the best in the series, turning him into a beloved actor.
The first season of Alien: Earth established the core premise following a group of terminally ill children whose minds are downloaded into synthetic bodies as they learn the limits of their freedom and have a series of unexpected encounters with xenomorphs.

Dinklage will be a welcome addition to the cast, which includes Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille and Moe Bar-El.
Alien: Earth season 2 is reportedly scheduled to enter production just weeks from now in May. It may be a while before we learn much more about Dinklage's role, but we'll keep you posted on everything you need to know. In the meantime, check out the best Hulu shows to watch right now.
