Daredevil star goes full Kingpin as he says Punisher isn't in Born Again season 2 because Jon Bernthal is busy "hangin with that insect"

While Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is right around the corner, one thing we know for sure is that Jon Bernthal's Punisher will not be appearing in the show.

Instead, Bernthal's antihero is getting his own special and has a role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. On social media, Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio responded to a fan frustrated that Punisher wouldn't appear – and he seemed to be channeling Wilson Fisk in his answer.

"If John wasn't busy making his own hour-long Punisher film and hangin with that insect, we would have wanted him to join us in Season 2 for sure," he wrote.

Then, in less of a Kingpin fashion, he added: "Yet he had a wonderful opportunity to do the other projects and I for one can't wait to see him in those."

We saw Punisher in the trailer for Spider-Man 4, but so far, not much is known about his part in the movie. Born Again season 2, meanwhile, will pick up with Charlie Cox's Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page, D'Onofrio's Kingpin, and Wilson Bethel's Bullseye.

"I think the thing that we try to do consistently is we take all the stuff from the books, we take all the stuff from the fans, we take all the stuff from the Netflix show, we take all the stuff that worked and didn't work in season one, and it all kind of goes into a pot," Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane recently told GamesRadar+. "And we try and build a story that satisfies as much as possible, and at the end of the day, delivers on story."
