With Marvel switching back and forth between Disney Plus series and big-budget movies, it's become more and more difficult to plug into the Marvel timeline. Take Daredevil: Born Again season 2, a show that factors into the wider MCU thanks to the ongoing political powder keg with Mayor Fisk and New York City. Then there's the curious Spider-Man: Brand New Day connection thanks to Punisher's appearance and allusions to Kingpin – or lack thereof.
But how does it all fit in in terms of dates? Below, we have the (spoiler-free) answer on the rough year the Disney Plus series takes place, as well as the Marvel movies and shows that are in close proximity – temporally, if not physically – with Born Again.

When does Daredevil: Born Again season 2 take place on the Marvel timeline?
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 takes place in 2027, some six months after the events of the first season (which, notably, featured a reference to New Year's Eve and definitely takes place at least a year after its cold open prologue in late 2025).
How do we know that for sure? Don't take my word for it. Showrunner Dario Scardapane told SFX magazine of the lay of the land in the sophomore season: "Fisk has won, the city is gradually being put under his boot and we pick up all of our major players around six months later."
In terms of recent projects, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 comes after the likes of Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts on the MCU timeline.
Is Daredevil: Born Again season 2 a prequel to Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
As a bonus, it appears Daredevil: Born Again season 2 takes place just prior to the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

In the first Brand New Day trailer, Tom Holland's Spidey is shown being handed a key to the city by a mayor who is not Wilson Fisk. Instead, his assistant Sheila is the one doing the honors.
Fisk actor Vincent D'Onofrio has already teased a narrative shift with Kingpin at the tail-end of Born Again's second season, which suggests he will be replaced in time for Spidey to swing through the Big Apple on the big screen.
However, it's hard to call it an outright prequel. Yes, The Punisher's involvement indicates that there will be some narrative throughline between the two street-level projects, but all we know right now is that Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is set before Spider-Man: Brand New Day (although, tin-foil hat time: the empty space in the first trailer could be hiding Daredevil).
It's almost time to be Born Again. Discover when the first episode drops with the Daredevil: Born Again season 2 release schedule.
