Netflix's Assassin's Creed show has bulked out its cast – and there could be a Templar hiding in their midst.
As revealed by the streamer, Noomi Rapace (Prometheus), Razmy Bedia (Of Money and Blood), Corrado Invernizzi (Ford vs. Ferrari), and Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible – Fallout) are joining the upcoming Assassin's Creed series.
While their roles are currently undisclosed, Harris – in particular – stands out, not least of all because his menacing turn as Solomon Lane in multiple Mission: Impossible movies lives long in the memory. Might we be looking at a member of the Templar Order here or, perhaps, its modern-day counterpart, Abstergo? We would put a few florins on that being the case.
The Assassin's Creed logline teases us about the Templar and Assassin war that has raged across centuries. It reads: 'Assassin’s Creed is a high-octane thriller centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions – one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to preserve free will. The series follows its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny.'
Assassin's Creed stars Toby Wallace, Lola Petticrew, Zachary Hart, Laura Marcus, and Tanzyn Crawford. Die Hard writer Jeb Stuart was once attached to the project, but departed in 2023. The series was later greenlit in 2025, with Robert Patino and David Wiener (who has previous in the video game adaptation space with Halo) on board as the new showrunners.
The Netflix series – which doesn't yet have a confirmed time period – follows on from the ill-fated 2016 movie, starring Michael Fassbender. Let's hope this blast from the past is a little more well-received.
