When is Mortal Kombat 2 on streaming? Well, we finally have an answer for you. If you missed out on its theatrical run, you can still watch the sequel in the comfort of your own home (and we won't judge you for wearing your Johnny Cage sunglasses while doing so).
The second film in the new Mortal Kombat movie franchise saw washed-up actor Johnny Cage leave the fan convention life for one that involves fighting to the death... and he doesn't do too bad at it. As a treat for video game fans, director Simon McQuoid and screenwriter Jeremy Slater worked pretty closely with franchise co-creator Ed Boon to ensure they didn't miss a beat this time around.

Mortal Kombat 2 streaming release date
Mortal Kombat 2 is streaming on HBO Max on July 24, 2026.
The sequel sees Earth's greatest champions, including Johnny Cage (The Boys' Karl Urban), pulled into battle against the evil Shao Kahn (Martyn Ford) for the fate of the world. The new film also features the return of characters from the first movie, including Jessica McNamee's Sonya Blade and Josh Lawson's Kano.
If you prefer to own a copy of the film, Mortal Kombat 2 will be available on Blu-ray, 4K UHD – and with its own fancy Steelbook – from July 28. The Blu-ray release also contains a number of behind-the-scenes featurettes that cover everything from stunt preparation to (literal) world-building, and franchise co-creator Ed Boon talking about the legacy of the games alongside the cast.
