Dead Rising 2 Combo Card Weapon Guide

Location of Card:
Gotten simply by leveling up between levels 40 – 50.

Location of Components:
By combining a Spear with a Leaf Blower you somehow or other get this thing.

Getting a Spear is tough in that there are a very few of them spread around the city. The most reliable place to get one seems to be The Chieftain’s Hut in Royal Flush Plaza. They can also be found in some of the maintenance rooms but they’re pretty rare outside of the Chieftain’s Hut.

Leaf blowers on the other hand are a bit harder to get your hands on. They are found in a very few maintenance rooms that are fairly out of the way but there is one that is close at hand. In Fortune Park check in the grassy patches south of the maintenance room in the middle to find it lying on the grass.

Descriptions of Weapons:
The Spear Launcher is a somewhat slow weapon – ponderous to aim, slow on the reload and the projectiles aren’t exactly the fastest things in the world. Its only real advantage is the fact that it has a number of shots in it and that each spear is basically a one hit kill on any zombies it so much as grazes. Sadly the spears aren’t able to penetrate zombies so each shot is only going to kill one zombie. You’re better off using the Rocket Launcher instead of bothering with this.

Notes: Deadly but slow firing.

Sticky Bomb

Location of Card:
Gotten simply by leveling up somewhere between levels 20 – 35.

Location of Components:
Sticky Bombs are comprised of two components, Lawn Darts and Dynamite.

To get some Lawn Darts all you need to do is search the grassy areas outside of the mall, such as in Fortune Park. Some can also be found inside of the mall in the grassy spots but these aren’t quite as common so check outside for them. One can be found outside of the maintenance room in the Food Court at all times.

Dynamite is gotten by going to Royal Flush Plaza and make your way to the Fortune Plaza exit. Just before the exit doors are some trees near the stairs that go up to the second level. Go up, jump onto the palm tree and pick up the two pieces. They can also be found inside some of the maintenance rooms although this is uncommon, notably being present in the maintenance room on the second floor of Palisades Mall.

Descriptions of Weapons:
Not an incredibly useful weapon but it sure is fun to throw around. If you’ve ever messed with the lawn darts then you know what to expect out of this. Except that now, after it sticks in the head of a zombie, it blows up and destroys everything in the area. Honestly it’s a rather effective weapon but since you can only hold one per inventory slot it’s far more cumbersome than the Blambow.

Notes: Easy to use and powerful.

Super B.F.G.

Location of Card:
Gotten simply by leveling up somewhere between levels 40 – 50.

Location of Components:
By combining a Blast Frequency Gun and an Amplifier you get this gadget!

The Blast Frequency Gun can be picked up from only one location in the entire game. You must make your way to the Secret Lab under Palisades Mall, only accessible by completing the cases. Otherwise the only other way to find it is to advance to Case 2-2 and head underground, between the Americana Casino and the Royal Flush Plaza signs on your map (it’s up a ramp, lying on the ground).

Amplifiers are gotten by going to either Tunemakers in the Royal Flush Plaza or to the stage on the Silver Strip. There are a few in these locations, located right near maintenance rooms at that, to suit your needs.

Descriptions of Weapons:
The only thing that keeps this weapon from being a complete and utter game breaker is the fact that it has such a limited quantity of ammunition. When you fire this sexy, sexy beast of a weapon at your enemies it expands into a large ball of energy. Any zombies caught by about 50% of the energy burst are wiped out immediately, most others will be destroyed as well and then the last few of them will be sent to the ground. A given shot of this gun can kill upwards of 40 zombies if used properly.

Notes: Awesome at wiping out groups.

Location of Card:
Gotten simply by leveling up between levels 20 - 35

Location of Components:
For this you’re going to need a Servbot Mask and a Lawnmower.

The Servbot Mask can be gotten by going to pretty much any of the children’s toy stores as most of them have a rack where you can pick up these masks. The store in Palisade Mall has plenty of these to pick up although finding the lawnmower is then the trick.

Chuck can find Lawnmowers by heading on over to the water area in the middle of Fortune Park, near the maintenance room. Just outside of the room is a lawnmower just sitting there, waiting to be used.

Descriptions of Weapons:
If you’ve used the bull or moose heads then you’re pretty aware of what to look for out of this weapon. Basically you go around and head butt enemies with the spinning mower blades, cutting their pretty little rotting faces off. Really though the fact that it can be knocked off of you when hit by a zombie and that it must be revved up like a chainsaw, this weapon is gimped in every way possible.

Notes: Essentially this is interesting but useless.

Location of Card:
In the Royal Flush Plaza, near the entrance to the Americana Casino you must examine the “Blood Round 4” movie poster.

Location of Components:
By duct taping a Box of Nails to some Mixed Martial Arts (M.M.A) Gloves you get these.

Nails can be obtained from almost every maintenance room as well as scattered about the mall. They’re surprisingly easy to find with just a bit of looking although they are sometimes in the oddest places, such as in the dirt under the palm trees in Royal Flush Plaza.

The M.M.A. Gloves are fairly easy to acquire simply by going to any Sporting good store, notably the one in Royal Flush Plaza has a few of them. There is of course the odd pair lying around on the floor, such as in Palisades Mall, but that isn’t very common.

Descriptions of Weapons:
The Tenderizers are strong, do a lot of damage and actually last quite a while when battling through the zombie hordes. They’re fast enough that they could probably replace the Knife Gloves if not for the fact that the third punch isn’t a punch at all, it’s actually a pretty weak kick attack. This attack is somewhat slow, slower than the punches at least, doesn’t do much damage and leaves Chuck very vulnerable to reprisals. If you want to use it against psychopaths do two punches before retreating and you will make pretty good use out of this weapon.

Notes: Quick and strong attacks.
