Wipeout 2048: See one of PS Vita's best launch titles doing its anti-gravity thing in this quick demo

Wipeout Pure was a PSP launch game. The first time I played it was a real 'WOW' moment and Pure is still easily one of my favourite handheld indulgences on Sony's first portable console. Seven years later and we're approaching the release of PSP's twin-sticked successor, PS Vita. And, once again, Sony's considerably speedy anti-gravity racer series takes centre stage on day one with Wipeout 2048. And, once again, it's by far the system's most impressive launch title that I've played yet.

Despite only having the demo, which contains just four events, Wipeout 2048 is easily my most played game of the year so far. It hasn't taken long to master each of the courses, but the racing is so satisfying and the tracks so brilliantly designed that I'm just not getting bored playing it over and over and over. And I can get bored pretty quickly. I know exactly what's going to be keeping my Vita's lovely OLED screen all warm and cosy on launch day and beyond. And it's not Top Darts. It's the full release of Wipeout 2048.
