Finding the best Hulu prices and bundle deals is not as easy as it should be because of the multitude of options available in 2023. All we want to do is sit down, relax, and binge the likes of Only Murders in the Building, What We Do in the Shadows or The Bear without any complications. Is that too much to ask?
In all seriousness, Hulu is one of the best streaming services for on-demand TV. While its library of shows and movies may pale in comparison to Netflix’s, Hulu’s library is nothing to scoff at. In addition to current hit shows and blockbuster films, Hulu’s library also has a rich variety of exclusive original content that’s worth checking out.
Hulu is also varied in the plans and add-ons it offers but we'll help you find the one that works best for you. Best of all, most of them are only monthly contracts, so you can leave whenever you like if you run out of things to watch (which we doubt you will).

Every Hulu plan includes access to over 1,650 TV shows and 2,500 movies — including next-day streaming of most current-season shows and Hulu Originals — plus concurrent streaming on two devices across TVs, laptops, tablets, or smartphones.
Hulu standard plans
A basic Hulu plan costs $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year (save $15.89). This relatively low cost is offset by commercial breaks. Interestingly, Hulu touts this plan as its most popular even with the ads.
Hulu (No Ads) is $14.99/month. As the name suggests, it offers commercial-free content, barring a few exceptions (Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, or Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D). The additional $6 even allows you to download and watch content offline, a recently-added feature we desperately longed for. It's worth noting that for some bizarre unknown reason, there's no yearly option for this tier.
Eligible students can also take up Hulu (ad-supported) subscription for as little as $1.99 a month, so well worth checking if you qualify.
Hulu + Live TV plans
Okay, this is where it gets complicated. Hulu has various different Live TV plans that see the platform combined with Disney Plus and ESPN Plus alongside different ad options per streaming service. It changed on December 8th, 2022, as Disney Plus increased its prices/introduces ads for the first time. We'll break it down below:
- Hulu (with ads) + Live TV + Disney Plus (with ads) + ESPN Plus (with ads): $69.99 a month
- Hulu (with ads) + Live TV + Disney Plus (no ads) + ESPN Plus (with ads): $74.99 a month
- Hulu (no ads) + Live TV + Disney Plus (no ads) + ESPN Plus (with ads): $82.99 a month
Hulu Add-ons and Premium Add-ons
If you don't fancy a bundle, Hulu also allows users to add either Disney Plus (with ads) for $2.00 a month or ESPN Plus for $9.99 a month to their plan. Additionally, HBO Max can be added for $14.99 a month, Cinemax for $9.99 a month, Showtime for $10.99 a month, and Starz for $8.99 a month.
Live TV Add-ons
On top of that, Hulu subscribers can access individual Live TV add-ons. The first of which is Español for $4.99 per month to watch a number of live shows in Spanish, including CNN en Español, Discovery en Español, Discovery Familia, ESPN Deportes, FOX Deportes, History Channel en Español, NBC Universo.
The second option is an Entertainment add-on for $7.99 per month. This gains you access to the following channels: American Heroes Channel, BET Her, CNBC World, Cooking Channel, Crime + Investigation, Destination America, Discovery Family, Discovery Life, Hallmark Drama, Magnolia Network, Great American Family, Military History Channel, Nicktoons, MTV2, MTV Classic, Science and TeenNick.
The third is a Sports add-on for $9.99 a month. Once this has been added to your plan, various live streams and select on-demand content across NFL RedZone, FanDuel TV, FanDuel Racing, MAVTV, Outdoor Channel, and Sportsman Channel will be available.
Last but not least (we know, there's a lot), an Unlimited Screens add-on can be upgraded to for $9.99 a month. This ups the number of screens you can stream simultaneously from two to as many as you want. You can also stream from three separate mobile devices simultaneously whenever on the move.

Hulu price increase
After increasing its prices by one dollar per for both the ad and ad-free versions of Hulu in October 2021, the company once again decided to raise the cost once again in October 2022. Let's hope this doesn't become a yearly tradition.
As a result, a Hulu subscription with ads now costs $7.99 a month, while a Hulu subscription without ads is now priced at $14.99 a month. The cheapest option is either a $1.99 subscription for students or committing to a yearly plan of $79.99 with ads, which saves you $15.89.
Hulu add-ons
Hulu’s a’la carte model makes it easy to build a plan that suits your budget and tastes. Regardless of which Hulu plan you choose, you can expand your library of shows and movies with network add-ons. These include Disney Plus ($2.00/month), ESPN Plus ($9.99/month), Starz ($8.99/month), Cinemax ($9.99/month), Showtime ($10.99/month), and HBO Max ($14.99/month).
Hulu bundles
Hulu bundles grant you access to more content at a discount. They’re also a means for Hulu to flex its ties with its parent company, Disney. If you're after some content for the grown-ups and kids alike, then you should get Hulu in one of the Disney Plus bundles.
Hulu deals and Hulu Free trials
Hulu deals are quite common. The streaming service has a number of specials going at any given time, whether solo or alongside another provider. A running promotion for new customers is a 30-day Hulu free trial. This is available for every Hulu plan except the Disney/ESPN bundle.

Sprint Unlimited customers can get a free basic Hulu subscription. Verizon unveiled a series of new plans that include Hulu bundles with Disney Plus and ESPN Plus as well.
What are the best Hulu prices and bundles for you?
The answer to that question depends on your preferences and budget. If you’re keen to save as much money as possible and can overlook commercial interruptions, a basic Hulu plan is the way to go. We'd start with this one and upgrade at a later date if you like, you can always downgrade again after that if you like too.
You can fork over an additional $7 per month for an ad-free experience upgrade. However, the caveat is that select shows aren’t exempt from brief commercials, but it's a minuscule number in all honesty. Add-ons allow for plenty of flexibility and customization. However, add enough extras and the difference in price versus cable may become negligible, namely for the Live TV plans.
If you’re a fan of both Disney properties and professional sports, the Hulu bundle with Disney Plus and ESPN Plus will satisfy those requirements and keep a few extra dollars in your wallet.
