Spider-Mans solo movie will be web-slinging into cinemas early

One of the many reasons to be excited about Captain America: Civil War is that it will feature the first appearance of Tom Holland's new Spider-Man. After that not so insignificant event Spidey will be getting his own solo film, and it looks like it'll be in cinemas sooner than initially planned.

According to Variety, Sony has shifted the release date of the upcoming reboot from July 28, 2017 to July 7, 2017, a slot which was recently vacated by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The report goes on to say that the studio has also moved the release date of Jumanji from Christmas 2016 to July 28, 2017.

Interestingly, Spider-Man's new release date is just two weeks after DC's solo Wonder Woman film, and it's very likely that Marvel's reboot will snatch the top spot the weekend it debuts. With Justice League: Part One and Hugh Jackman's final Wolverine movie also due out next year, 2017 promises to be yet another great year for superhero fans. Make sure you update your calendars!

Directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland and Marisa Tomei, Spider-Man is now set for a July 7, 2017 release in cinemas.
