Rumoured Green Lantern actor talks about Batman v Superman role

In addition to dropping the first Wonder Woman footage, last month's TV special Dawn of The Justice League confirmed the inclusion of another major superhero set to debut in the two part Justice League movies - the Green Lantern. His involvement in the double-header became a possibility last summer when Warner Bros. announced a new Green Lantern movie for 2020, and now it looks like we might meet the next man in the mask a lot sooner than expected.

According to an interview with Dan Amboyer, who appears in Zack Snyder's upcoming superhero showdown, the character will make his debut in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. On the film's IMDB page he is listed as "Drone Pilot" but the actor says he's actually playing a Lieutenant Christie - who is supposedly the Green Lantern.

"It was awesome," Amboyer tells Pop Sugar about his first day on set. "I got there right at the beginning of shooting and it was crazy because my first day people were showing me around and all of a sudden the Superman suit comes by — and it’s giant. It’s not something you can hang up. So that was insane. But what I thought was really interesting was that they filmed a lot of it on film, not digital. So a lot of the sets were actually built. So, all of a sudden, you’re on another planet, literally. Everything is so intricate and perfect. You think so much of that is just CGI and postproduction, but it was actually there.”

The mention of literally being on "another planet" certainly suggests that the film might include footage of the Green Lantern Corps. somewhere other than Earth. But when asked to elaborate on the scenes he shot, he says "I don't know what I can say that's not spoilery. So, let's just say, I filmed good ones", adding that he was told to remain tight-lipped on the specifics of his character. "They told me I couldn't say anything."

However, he does go on to answer the interviewer's thinly-veiled question about his favorite color. "Blue. Definitely blue, but I appreciate nature as well and everything green." Is this really about Amboyer's preferred color, or could it be confirmation of his role as the Green Lantern?

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Diane Lane, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne and Amy Adams, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in UK and US cinemas on March 25, 2016.
