Ni No Kuni Competition

Win! A Limited Wizard’s Edition of the Studio Ghibli game Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch and one of 10 hardcover Wizard Companion books

There’s one very important reason why you’ll want to play Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch – it was co-developed by Studio Ghibli.

Available on PS3 from 1 February, the role-playing-game is the closest you’ll ever come to starring in one of Ghibli’s exquisite creations, such as Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke .

It’s about a 13-year-old boy, Oliver, whose mother suddenly dies after she saves him from drowning. A doll gifted to Oliver by his mother is brought to life by his tears and is revealed to be Drippy, a fairy. Drippy gives Oliver a Wizard’s Companion book that allows him to use magic and travel to the parallel world of Ni No Kuni, where he discovers a chance to reunite with his mother.

Needless to say, an emotional journey awaits, one loaded with Ghibli’s trademark charm and distinct visual style. Studio Ghibli co-developed the game with Professor Layton creators Level-5, so the gameplay – a mix of turn based and real time creature battles – doesn’t disappoint either.

It’s been available in Japan for over a year, but the extra time taken to translate the title has ensured Ni No Kuni is given the care and attention it deserves. Purists take note: the original Japanese language track is also available on the disc.

The game is released in Europe on 1 February, and will also be available in a limited Wizard’s Edition along with a Wizards Companion, Drippy plush doll and downloadable creature familiars. To win a copy, or one of 10 Wizard Companions, answer the following simple question .
