New Star Wars: Rogue One TV spot offers a glimpse at one of the movie’s big battles

With Star Wars Rogue One just around the corner, it makes sense for the hype machine to crank into overdrive - and that's just what's happened with the release of this new TV spot for the upcoming Star Wars movie.

We’re being treated to a slightly more extended look at the battle on tropical planet Scarif this time, where the Death Star is being built. AT-ATs chug along and X-Wings buzz overhead, showing quite a bit of scale to the clash. Seeing as the trailer opens with another tease of the Death Star's targeting system, could there be a time constraint to this conflict? A test firing? Maybe at Scarif itself to hide the evidence?

If the trailer is anything to go by. This rebellion is built on hope, and lots and lots of rockets. For a franchise that focuses on the ‘chosen one’ so often, we’re looking forward to seeing the underdog attempting to come out on top.

We’re with you, Jyn. All the way.

Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker and Mads Mikkelsen, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is released in cinemas worldwide on December 16.
